taming the beast

June 9, 2011

When Sienna hears any of the words “go,” “shoes,” or “outside” (even if it’s referring to something completely unrelated to putting on our shoes and going outside), she immediately runs to the front door and starts banging every one of her appendages on the door like she’s some sort of zombie who has just been captured and injected with some sort of experimental drug to make her less zombie-ish, and all she wants to do is break through the bullet-proof glass and eat the faces off of all her captors. I mean seriously that girl can get violent.

So when we finally, you know like 3 seconds before she chews her way through the door, get her shoes on and free her to the outside world, she is like a bat out of hell. Next thing you know she’s chewing on 4 rocks while grabbing as many sharp sticks as possible, running as far away from me as she can get, and meanwhile I’m yelling ,”Drop those sticks! Nobody likes a one-eyed baby!”

But there is one fool-proof way to settle her down…

It’s amazing, the powers of a guy with a 4-wheeler…
